Education to VT law makers
Testimony before VT law makers
When: 1/12/2010, 3pm.
Where: State House, Montpelier, VT.
Aaron's parents, Drs. Shuwan Xue and Ge Wu, testified before the Vermont House Judiciary Committee. They retold the heartbroken story of Aaron, expressed their frustration with the police investigation, and urged the law makers to enact a law that will prevent easy access to firearms by children. You can read a Seven Days article.
When: 9/17/2009, 7pm.
Where: Cafeteria, Essex High School, Essex Jct, VT.
About 75 people attended a Community Forum. Anne Ireland, an Essex resident whose son was a close friend of Aaron, facilitated the Forum. Aaron's parents briefly reviewed the key points of what they knew happened to Aaron, and raised many questions surrounding the mystery of Aaron's death. They asked the community to help them find answers. Also, they called for change in Vermont law regarding child access to guns, and change in education on suicide prevention. Community members John Diego, Carol Renca, Eliot Nelson, and Bob Williamson also spoke. Read media reports by Essex Reporter on 9/10 and 9/20, and by Burlington Free Press.
